An introduction - What's the problem?

How we are likely to be watching and producing TV in the future?

'There is a long history of renewal and invention in delivering public service as technologies change - major museums were founded to reform and educate citizens in the 19th century; public service radio and television reached the whole of the U.K in the 20th century; and now a new approach is needed for the digital media world of the 21st century.' (Ofcom 2007)
In the future should programme production be focused on only one media - television, radio, internet ...? or should all programmes be created as multi platform productions from their creation? How could this effect the design and function of a TV studio?
The aim of this project is to design a a new YTV studio that responds to the changing nature of TV production and viewing habits.
